We are preparing for our Spring Collection Launch Party in the shop this week.
Next Saturday (April 7th) we are showcasing the new publications from our most popular artists- Caroline Shotton, Paul Horton, Govinder, Mackenzie Thorpe and Doug Hyde to name just a few. We have organised an excellent singer songwriter, Andrew Clark to come and entertain our visitors and will be offering wine and chocolates (as it is Easter) to give the shop a bit of a buzz. As usual, when we are preparing for an event, the customer framing comes piling in putting a bit of pressure on the framers, still, its better than having no work isn't it! We seem to have a high number of sports shirts in for framing at the moment - I'm just waiting for the first England shirt signed by our new local hero, David Nugent, to be brought in - it can't be long now.

The First Post

This is my first post on this blog. My wife and I own a gallery and framing shop in Preston Lancashire, and have doen so since 1988. If all goes well, I shall post as regularly as I can commecting on how we see the commercial art world. There are loads of blogs from the high end art world - you know the sort cut your pet in half, stick it in an untidy bedroom and call it art, and then sneer at the popular art world - the type most people buy to enhance their homes.

We sell mainly limited editions by artists such as Doug Hyde, Mackenzie Thorpe, Duncan Macgregor and Jack Vettriano - all popular artists. We frame everything in our on site workshop and offer an exemplary custtomer service.

Well thats the ad out of the way. As I type this out in between customers, it is likely to contain spelling and grammatical errors - but that is part of blogging I suppose. I will aim to post a few photos a swell once I get the hang of the software.

Right, have to go now as I am out at a Sportsmans Dinner tonight, so may be a bit delicate tomorrow!
